At Goodwill Industries of Southwestern Michigan, we believe education is the foundation for a better future. Our Adult Education and GED program is designed to help learners of all ages build the skills they need to succeed, earn their high school equivalency diploma, and create Good Futures for themselves and their families.
About the GED Program
Returning to education can feel intimidating, especially if you haven’t been in a classroom for years. That’s why our program is designed to remove barriers, provide support, and make learning accessible for adult learners aged 18–65.
Our dedicated team guides you every step of the way, helping you master each subject and preparing you to pass the GED exam with confidence. Classes focus on real learning outcomes and are structured to give every student the best chance of success.
Support That Goes Beyond the Classroom
We know learning is hard—that’s why we provide:
- Free educational resources including Khan Academy and GCF Learn Free
- GED readiness and practice tests to ensure success
- Flexible class schedules: Mon-Thurs 9am-4:30pm, and every other Saturday 8am-12pm
The Diploma Process
- Placement Test: Helps us start you at the right level.
- Classes & Practice: Learn at your pace with materials, tests, and support provided.
- GED Exam: A strong practice test performance leads to a high passing rate (about 90%).
- Graduation: Receive your high school equivalency diploma through Kalamazoo Public Schools and celebrate your achievement at graduation.
