Why Donate?

Every time you donate, you change someone’s life! Donated items help neighbors with disabilities and other barriers to housing and employment gain the opportunity to live, work, and thrive.

Since 1956, items donated to Goodwill in Southwestern Michigan are sold in our stores. Ninety-two cents of every dollar generated is then placed into our programs (link to Programs and Services page) to help others.

Your donations also provide jobs to over 250 people throughout Southwestern Michigan. Covering six counties and 13 retail and store locations, your donations help our region grow to place people in jobs that give back.

Jobs are created for people to:

• Work at donation centers
• Transport donations to Goodwill stores
• Process donations: collecting, sorting, pricing, hanging, baling
• Dispatch trucks and trailers
• Manage warehouse inventory
• Stock donations at stores
• Provide customer service at stores
